Hannah Rothschild is a writer and director.
She's directed documentaries for the BBC and for series including Relative Values, Storyville, Omnibus, The Great Picture Chase and Arena and has produced dramas such as The Scarlet Pimpernel for the BBC and A & E.
Working Title, Sarah Radclyffe and Ridley Scott optioned her original screenplays. 'Eddie Loves Mary', was shown at festivals winning runner-up at the London Film Festival/TCM film award.
The Jazz Baroness; a recent documentary feature co-produced with the BBC Storyville and HBO was selected at festivals worldwide including Telluride, Seville, Sheffield and Hotdocs and is the official HBO entry for the International Emmys and for the IDA awards.
'Hi society, The Wonderful World of Nicky Haslam' was transmitted in November 2009 on the BBC. She is currently editing an observational documentary for BBC Storyville about Peter Mandelson, shot from October 2009 until June 2010.
Acting London Editor of Vanity Fair for eighteen months in the 1990's, her features and interviews appear in newspapers and magazines including W, Vanity Fair, The Telegraph, The Times, The New York Times, The Spectator, British and American Vogue.
Her biography of the Jazz Baroness for Virago and Little Brown will be published in the near future.
She is a trustee of the National Gallery and a Vice President of the Hay Literary Festival and used to be on the board of the Whitechapel Art Gallery, the ICA, a member of the Serpentine Council.
She lives in London.
