BIOGRAPHICAL

Hannah Rothschild directs documentaries for the BBC and for series including Relative Values, Storyville, Omnibus and Arena and has produced dramas such as The Scarlet Pimpernel for the BBC and A & E.
 
Working Title and Ridley Scott optioned her original screenplays. 'Eddie Loves Mary', her short film starring Gina McKee, Katrin Cartlidge, Kevin Mcnally, Steve Mangan and others was shown at festivals winning runner-up at the London Film Festival/TCM short film award.
 
This year she's finished the The Jazz Baroness; a documentary feature co-produced with the BBC Storyville and HBO was also shown at film festivals worldwide including Telluride, Seville, Sheffield and Hotdocs. BBC Storyville commissioned another doc feature, 'Hi society, The Wonderful World of Nicky Haslam' which was transmitted in November 2009.
 
Acting London Editor of Vanity Fair for eighteen months in the 1990's, her features and interviews appear in newspapers and magazines including W, Vanity Fair, The Telegraph, The Times, The New York Times, The Spectator, British and American Vogue.
 
Currently, she's writing the biography of the Jazz Baroness for Virago and Little Brown.
 
A trustee of the National Gallery and a Vice President of the Hay Literary Festival, she was a trustee of the Whitechapel Art Gallery, the ICA, a member of the Serpentine Council.
 
She lives in London.
